Draper cyclocross for double points

Posted in Cyclocross, Uncategorized with tags , , on December 3, 2008 by VH1

I went out today and rode the previous Draper cyclocross course.  I have a feeling this time around the course will be in a reverse direction, so I rode the course in reverse and it just felt right.  Some things to look out for are: the gravel roads are very loose and could cause some trouble.  The singletrack is in great shape and will be VERY fast, the descent/climb by the bridge is very loose and could cause a few pile-ups, with double points on the line you better show up with your A game! Here is the data from the ride today. I hope to see all my homies that haven’t done cross this year to be there this weekend and represent the home turf.  This includes: Ridin Dirty, Dug, Cyclista, Jon, Tony, Jamie, A Touch of Evil, T-bag, Covey VP, and anyone else I missed.  My bike is available for the C race if you want to borrow it.draperjpeg1

Notice the gap between the start and finish lines.  That is an illusion.  I didn’t include that as part of the course because that is the section where going to the “pain cave” is highly recommended!

This is just a modification of the loop I posted yesterday.  Once again this is a must do!  Major props go out to the freerider group that developed the downhill trail.  Today a group of 16 (myself included) rode this trail while squealing like little girls.  This loop Suncrest-Downhill-Equestrian Center-Clarksup or Equestrian Center-Clarksup-Suncrest-Downhill-Equestrian Center is the best ride around and has made my top 5 list! Here is the data for todays rideCheck out the Max Grade for ascent and descent on the elevation tab—This is why this is the best ride around!

Suncrest-Downhill-Clarks loop

The downhill run starting from Suncrest lived up to the HYPE!  This is an amazing mtn. bike trail.  There are 2 options: Black-for the freeriders and Blue-for the everyday rider.  This run has everything: drops, jumps, ramps, tight singletrack, banked turns, and there is a ride around for all of the stunts.  The singletrack is so smooth, I am sold bigtime!  The best part is you can loop this run.  I have also discovered another gem that I will have to map this next week.  Hint: it is on the Utah County side of the hill. Here is the detailed data for this route. I hit an all-time high heart rate today.  Does that mean I am getting out of shape?

Suncrest-Clarks-Deer Ridge(dead end)

A great little route that will be an AMAZING loop when the trail is completed to Deer Ridge.  Another option for this would be an out and back to the Flight ParkIf you are feeling a little Xgamey you could add a run on the downhill only route from Deer Ridge.  Hopefully I will be able to map this before the snow flies. As always here is the detailed data for this ride:

Equestrian Center to Flight Park

I thought Glenwild-Flying Dog was going to be the last night ride, but with this weather we still have a couple weeks to break out the lights. Here is the data and detailed map of this ride:

Draper Cross Course 10-08

I rode this course last week.  I could not make the group ride today so tonight “Coach Troy” (Spinervals) will be screaming at me while I sweat it out on the trainer. Click here to access the data for the Draper Cross Coursedraper-cross-coursejpeg

Mud is not fun to ride in and this 6.17 mile loop had plenty of mud.  I cannot complain though as today is the 18th of November, and we all are riding on borrowed time. Click here for detailed info on the Suncrest-Jacobs-Coffee loopsuncrest-jacobs-coffee-loopjpeg
