Clark time trial

If you don’t know what the Clarks time trial is click here: for the rest of you, you know how much pain and agony this causes.  Last year I got to the top of this climb and passed out.  I woke up to Elden the fatcyclist asking me if I was okay(I wasn’t riding with Elden and have no idea where he came from).  To this day I don’t know how long I was in dreamland.  I swore I wouldn’t post my time until I cracked the 11 minute mark, but I am now officially breaking this oath.  I am frustrated with this damn thing.  Last year I hit 11:06 on 2 different occasions.  So far this year I have collected an 11:04/11:06/11:12/11:14 and today went 11:09.  I have no idea where I am going to make up these precious seconds, but vow to go sub 11.

Clearly, you’re not trying hard enough. I think you need to give it a go every single day until you get it.

Am I ok to post the 11:04? All I need is for you to give me a date. Just Seeing your time published on the blog will give you the motivation required for to go sub 11!

You need to pay Brad $5 and chase him. It’s the only way.

  4. No help from me – I’m done with TT pain this year and into joy rides.

  5. maybe someday I will do a sub 15! 11:04 ain’t nothin’ to be ashamed of……Nice work!

  6. You riding single or geared? Whichever way you’re riding, try the other.

  7. come borrow the geared beauty you sold me and seal the deal.

The bottom is the key. Gotta go faster on the bottom third.

  9. tibiker Says:

…and the middle third, you need to pick up the pace just a bit

  10. tibiker Says:

…and then you need to finish strong on the top third.

Seriously, that’s the frustrating thing, you just rack your brain trying to figure out where to get those precious few seconds. Same as in races, I always look at who beat me and wonder where in the world I could have pushed it a little harder to shave seconds off the deficit.

  15. have nothing compared to those gems of wisdom. Yet that is exactly what you did last year cracking the magical 11 minute mark

  16. Rode the geared to an 11:06 last year, then followed it up with an 11:06 a few weeks later on a single.

  17. or I could just follow you. Remember when I timed us without telling you that I was timing the ride. We were right at the 11:20 mark and you weren’t really tapped

  18. Gotta go single. I’m not even close to competitive on my geared. Here’s another hint … do it in the fall when you’ve got your game on after training all season.
