Finally I can yank that monkey off my back. I can now say I have won something! In a past post on the family blog I aired my frusteration (see 6clarks blog on second is the first loser). Crazy thing is I have always gone as hard as I could and I now realize a win feels the same as second place (a Leadville 85th place even feels better). Now I move into a new division and my ONLY goal is to not get lapped! The course this week was identical to the one I posted for Wheeler Farm a few weeks back. If you are interested in looking at the data here it is:

Posted in News of the Weak on November 29, 2008 by VH1This Friday was the one time a year I put on cleats and toss around the pigskin. I have always been curious on how much running you do during one of these 2-hand touch games. Here is the data from the 08 version of the Turkey Bowl. Also a side note, I hurt more now from an hour of football than I did from 100 miles of high-altitude racing at Leadville. Is this possible?

Posted in Mtn. Bike with tags Best Dirt Rides, Draper, Routes and Data on November 26, 2008 by VH1This is just a modification of the loop I posted yesterday. Once again this is a must do! Major props go out to the freerider group that developed the downhill trail. Today a group of 16 (myself included) rode this trail while squealing like little girls. This loop Suncrest-Downhill-Equestrian Center-Clarksup or Equestrian Center-Clarksup-Suncrest-Downhill-Equestrian Center is the best ride around and has made my top 5 list! Here is the data for todays ride—Check out the Max Grade for ascent and descent on the elevation tab—This is why this is the best ride around!

Posted in Mtn. Bike with tags Draper, Routes and Data on November 25, 2008 by VH1The downhill run starting from Suncrest lived up to the HYPE! This is an amazing mtn. bike trail. There are 2 options: Black-for the freeriders and Blue-for the everyday rider. This run has everything: drops, jumps, ramps, tight singletrack, banked turns, and there is a ride around for all of the stunts. The singletrack is so smooth, I am sold bigtime! The best part is you can loop this run. I have also discovered another gem that I will have to map this next week. Hint: it is on the Utah County side of the hill. Here is the detailed data for this route. I hit an all-time high heart rate today. Does that mean I am getting out of shape?
Suncrest-Clarks-Deer Ridge(dead end)
Posted in Mtn. Bike with tags Draper, Routes and Data on November 23, 2008 by VH1A great little route that will be an AMAZING loop when the trail is completed to Deer Ridge. Another option for this would be an out and back to the Flight Park. If you are feeling a little Xgamey you could add a run on the downhill only route from Deer Ridge. Hopefully I will be able to map this before the snow flies. As always here is the detailed data for this ride:

Posted in Mtn. Bike with tags Draper, Nightride, Routes and Data on November 23, 2008 by VH1I thought Glenwild-Flying Dog was going to be the last night ride, but with this weather we still have a couple weeks to break out the lights. Here is the data and detailed map of this ride:

It is my understanding that over the next 48 hours dressing up like this dude WILL get you laid! Along these same lines you will get bonus points for being a “vegetarian” vampire and answering to the name Edward. Sounds a little weird I know, but according to my source Barry White has nothing on this dude!
Draper Cross Course 10-08
Posted in Cyclocross with tags Cyclocross, Draper, Routes and Data on November 19, 2008 by VH1I rode this course last week. I could not make the group ride today so tonight “Coach Troy” (Spinervals) will be screaming at me while I sweat it out on the trainer. Click here to access the data for the Draper Cross Course

Posted in Mtn. Bike with tags Draper, Routes and Data on November 18, 2008 by VH1Mud is not fun to ride in and this 6.17 mile loop had plenty of mud. I cannot complain though as today is the 18th of November, and we all are riding on borrowed time. Click here for detailed info on the Suncrest-Jacobs-Coffee loop
Wheeler Cross Course 11-15-08
Posted in Cyclocross with tags Cyclocross, Routes and Data, Salt Lake City on November 17, 2008 by VH1For those of you who have never done a cross race; you need to! Imagine 40-60 minutes of wrecks, pain, suffering, cold and misery. The thing is all of these factors combined make for one GREAT time. This past Saturday was the Wheeler Farm race. In the C division alone 65 riders lined up at the mass start. Big props go to JJ and Ridin Dirty for the Salt Cycling jersey. If you don’t already have one of these jerseys place your order today. It is super comfy, plus who doesn’t like argyle? To access the data for the wheeler course click here:
